Set up with purpose

A bookkeeping system should reflect how the business operates

A new QuickBooks Online file needs more than a subscription and a connected bank account. The account structure, opening information, financial connections, and routine workflow should provide a reliable foundation for future bookkeeping.

Corven configures straightforward new-business files within a defined scope and then explains the completed setup to the owner.

What setup may include

The essential pieces of an organized starting file

Company configuration

Configure basic company information and bookkeeping preferences using the records and decisions provided by the client.

Chart of accounts

Create a straightforward account structure appropriate for the business’s current bookkeeping needs.

Financial-account connections

Connect the agreed bank and credit-card accounts to QuickBooks Online when supported and authorized by the client.

Bank-feed organization

Configure basic bank-feed settings and reasonable rules intended to support consistent transaction processing.

Opening information

Enter supportable opening balances and beginning information using documentation provided by the client.

Starting workflow

Establish a practical process for reviewing transactions, maintaining supporting records, and reconciling accounts.

Initial reconciliation guidance

Complete or demonstrate the initial reconciliation process for the agreed financial accounts, depending on the project scope and available records.

Who it’s for

Designed for straightforward new-business setups

This service is intended for qualifying new or recently established businesses with straightforward operations and no more than three months of limited, well-documented activity.

Good fit

  • A new or recently established business
  • QuickBooks Online as the intended bookkeeping platform
  • Up to three months of limited historical activity
  • Available bank and credit-card statements
  • Straightforward ownership and operations
  • A manageable number of financial accounts
  • An owner prepared to provide requested information

The three-month limit does not guarantee that prior activity belongs within a setup project. If the existing records require substantial transaction entry, correction, or reconciliation, Corven may propose a separate catch-up or cleanup engagement.

What Corven needs from you

Accurate setup depends on accurate information

The client purchases and owns the QuickBooks Online subscription and grants Corven accountant access for the project.

  • Business formation and ownership information
  • Bank and credit-card statements
  • Details for the accounts being connected
  • Documentation supporting opening balances
  • Timely answers about prior activity
  • Decisions or guidance from a tax professional when tax judgment is required

Corven does not purchase, resell, or retain ownership of the client’s QuickBooks Online subscription.

Handoff

Understand the setup you receive

The completed project includes one 30-minute handoff session covering the configuration and routine workflow established by Corven.

The client may submit setup-related clarification questions for seven calendar days after the handoff. This period is intended to clarify the delivered setup and does not include additional bookkeeping, ongoing training, or general QuickBooks technical support.

Clear boundaries

This is a bookkeeping setup service—not software technical support

Corven configures QuickBooks Online for straightforward bookkeeping use. Technical software problems and specialized accounting configurations fall outside this service.

  • Login, subscription, billing, browser, or synchronization problems
  • QuickBooks software defects
  • QuickBooks Online Payroll setup or troubleshooting
  • Inventory setup
  • Construction or project-based job costing
  • Multi-entity accounting
  • QuickBooks Desktop migration
  • Conversion of an established spreadsheet-based system
  • Ecommerce or complex third-party integrations
  • Tax configuration requiring professional tax judgment
  • Ongoing training or unlimited support
  • Ongoing monthly bookkeeping unless separately engaged

Technical software issues may need to be addressed through Intuit Support. Historical bookkeeping problems may require a separately scoped catch-up or cleanup project.

What comes next

Use the completed setup in the way that fits your business

After handoff, the client may maintain the books independently or consider separately proposed monthly bookkeeping from Corven.

Maintain it yourself

Use the configured file and starting workflow to manage routine bookkeeping internally.

Continue with Corven

Request a separate proposal for recurring monthly bookkeeping when ongoing support is a better fit.

How it works

A defined path to a working QBO file

  1. Review

Corven reviews the business structure, existing activity, financial accounts, records, and intended bookkeeping workflow.

  2. Define

The setup components, client responsibilities, assumptions, exclusions, and deliverables are documented.

  3. Propose

The client receives a fixed-fee proposal for the defined setup project.

  4. Configure

Corven completes the agreed QuickBooks Online configuration using the information and access provided.

  5. Handoff

Corven conducts the 30-minute handoff session and begins the seven-day clarification period.

Individually priced

A fixed project fee based on the setup required

QuickBooks Online setup is priced individually based on the business structure, number of financial accounts, amount of existing activity, opening-balance requirements, account complexity, and requested workflow.

Once the scope is defined, the client receives a fixed project fee for the agreed setup.
